How to Reach Us: the Portal, the Phone, and After Hours
Table of Contents
Demo content — Northline Family Dental is a fictional practice created to demonstrate this website template. The staff, hours, phone numbers, prices, and policies below are made up. Nothing here is medical or dental advice. There are two ways to reach us, and picking the right one is mostly about how quickly you need an answer.
Office hours
- Monday, Wednesday — 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, Thursday — 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Friday — 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Sunday — closed
Front desk: (555) 012-4400. Fictional hours and a fictional number, for a fictional practice.
Rescheduling
Give us twenty-four hours and there is no fee and no awkwardness. Reschedule through the portal or by phone, whichever is faster for you.
Two things worth knowing:
- Ask for the waitlist. If you want an earlier slot, say so. Cancellations come up most weeks, and the waitlist is how they get filled.
- Under twenty-four hours, call. Do not send a portal message about a same-day change. It may not be read in time.
What the portal is for
The portal is a paperwork and admin tool. Use it for:
- Requesting or moving an appointment
- Reading a treatment plan or estimate we have written for you
- Statements, receipts, and payment history
- Sending back non-clinical forms
- Updating your address, phone, or contact preferences
- Billing questions, and consent to be contacted
That is the whole list, and it is the list on purpose.
What the portal is not for
Do not use the portal for anything urgent, and do not use it for anything clinical.
Please do not send symptoms, photographs of your mouth, a list of medications, or anything you would expect a clinician to read today. Portal messages are checked once or twice a business day by administrative staff. They are not monitored in the evening, they are not monitored on weekends, and they are not a clinical channel.
If it needs a clinician, it needs a phone call. That is not us being difficult — a message that sits unread until Monday is worse than no message at all.
After hours
Call (555) 012-4400. Outside office hours the recording gives you the on-call number for genuine dental emergencies.
For a serious injury, swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, or bleeding you cannot stop, do not wait for a call back — go to an emergency room or call emergency services.
If you are not sure whether it is urgent
Call. Uncertainty is exactly the case a phone call is for, and no one at this desk minds the question. It is a much better outcome than guessing and waiting.
And for the rest
This page covers how to reach us, not what to do about anything you are experiencing. For that, speak with your own dentist — or call and we will get you in front of one of ours.
